Walk & Location InformationThe Walk: A mostly level walk with 1 gentle climb and descent and no stiles. The walk is mostly dry but wear boots after prolonged heavy rain. Just about OK for buggies when it's dry. The walk itself is 3.1 miles but it will depend where you start. From The Parrot it is 3.7 miles.
There are kissing gates on the route so gloves / hand sanitizer / tissues are advisable.
The Venue: The Parrot Inn is permanently closed. There is a free car park opposite the Parrot and side street parking next to it.
There are cafes (e.g. Snooty Fox, www.thesnootyfox.uk) and shops in Shalford village. There are 2 pubs nearby which have re-opened. The Queen Victoria Facebook QueenVicShalford (phone 01483 566959) is next to the station and has limited parking outside but is close to another free car park. The Seahorse www.theseahorseguildford.co.uk (phone 01483 514351) is 600 yards north of the station and has a car park.
All of the above cafes and pubs are trying to work to the latest guidelines so please contact them to find out what they are offering and what restrictions there are on using them.

From Dorking via A25: After Shere turn left on A248 for Albury. Pass through Shalford and turn left at roundabout. Very soon turn right for Broadford. After 250 yards The Parrot is on left.
From the A3: Come of at Compton and head on B3000 to Peasemarsh. At the Peasemarsh roundabout turn left on A3100. At the 3rd roundabout turn right for Broadford on A248. The Parrot is on the right shortly after the canal bridge.

Shalford railway station is 600 yards from the Parrot: www.nationalrail.co.uk . It is on the Redhill - Dorking - Guildford line.
Numerous buses run past Shalford station to/from Guildford including the 32 service from Redhill & Dorking www.travelinesoutheast.org.uk .
